Tallgrass Beef never uses growth hormones and the grass fed beef does not need antibiotics because they are fed the correct diet.  It is simply a superior product. Furthermore, Tallgrass uses sustainable methods to raise their cows by letting them roam free, grazing on grass and then fertilizing the next crop.  This method of sustainable ranching saves resources and releases less carbon and methane into our environment.

We love Tallgrass so much because of the flavor.  There is something about grassfed beef that stands out.  We believe that this beef actually tastes like beef.  You will know what we mean here once you have tried it.  In addition to superior flavor, Grass-fed beef is leaner and higher in protein that grain-fed beef. In fact, grass-fed beef averages 1.5 times more protein than typical USDA Choice+ grain-fed beef. Research indicates that eating lean beef can help lower total, LDL and VLDL cholesterol, and triglycerides, while increasing beneficial HDL cholesterol. It can also help lower blood pressure, aid in weight loss, and improve insulin sensitivity and glycemic control. 90210_postcard1

Eco Caters did an all organic catering event for an art gallery opening on Saturday October 10th in Beverly Hills. The event consisted of tray passed hors d’oeuvres like duck confit with fennel seed and apple on endive; dungeness crap roulade; spicy curry chicken salad with California golden raisins; and scallop ceviche with citrus, agave, and coconut. Because of the fact that there was no kitchen on site, Eco Caters customized their menu creating organic tray passed hors d oeuvres that would be great served room temperature. The owners of the gallery really appreciate an eco-friendly lifestyle and wanted their gallery opening to represent that to. So along with serving all organic food, a selection of Organic wines were served as well. To check out more pieces of art go to www.garboushian.com.

Eco Caters a San Diego Catering Company Delivers  a Simple and Organic Wedding

This was a very nice, private backyard wedding.  It was simple and it portrayed the couple perfectly without any unnecessary distractions.  The organic San Diego catering started off at cocktail hour with tray passed and stationary hors d’oeuvres. San Diego caterer, Eco Caters then  helped the party transition into a family style meal. One of our increasingly popular choices is the family style meal. It works great for social families and those who want a smaller more intimate feel to their wedding.

With the amazing views of San Diego and the ocean, San Diego caterer, Eco Caters could not have been in a better place.  The menu included stationary hors d’oeuvres which consisted of a chef’s choice cheese display with aged gouda, goregonzola, humboldt fog and chevre with honey and truffle with market fruit and preserves as well as hierloom salsa, mango salsa and guacamole with organic tortilla chips.  The tray pass hors d’oeuvres were very well liked, they consisted of assorted organic sliders, including ground sirloin with smoked cheddar, roma tomato, and homemade aioli, apricot turkey slider with apple, arugula, and house mustard and grilled portabella with mixed greens, and basil aioli.

For the plated salad, we served mixed greens with goat cheese, sliced almonds, nine grain croutons, goji berries, and avocado dressing.  Finally the main dishes and sides were served family style with one main and one side on each platter.  The first platter was smoked chili rubbed tri-tip with a fire roasted pepper sauce with mac-n-cheese with cave aged gruyere.  The second platter was grilled pacific fish with cilantro jalapeno oil alongside grilled farmers market vegetables.  For dessert Erin and Ryan decided to go with Apple Cobbler instead of wedding cake which everyone enjoyed very much.
