San Diego Catering company prepares a family meal for a family get together
Eco Caters, a San Diego catering company helped prepare a hearty meal for a Point Loma family’s gathering. Eco Caters arrived, cooked, cleaned and left, all while the host got a chance to catch up with her family, something that does not happen all too often.
The host chose to start with a few Hors D Oeuvres for her family to snack on while they watched a slideshow of old memories. These included; Chef’s Choice Cheese Display with Market Fruit and Preserve, Hummus Trio with Tabouli, Olive Salad, and Grilled Flatbread, and a Chilled Seafood Display with Shrimp, Lemon Caper Aioli, and Cocktail Sauce. All catered by San Diego Caterer, Eco Caters.
Her family was then served a family style meal of Spinach Salad with Roasted Red Peppers, Chevre, and Tomato Vinaigrette, Garlic Roasted Free Range Chicken Breast with Au Jus, Grilled Vegetable Lasagna with Housemade Ricotta, Garlic Smashed Potatoes, and French Beans with Crispy Shallot.
For dessert San Diego caterer, Eco Caters, created the cutest miniature desserts for her family to savor after the meal. These desserts were, mini Key Lime Tarts with Meringue and White Chocolate Dipped Strawberries.
A family style meal is a great option for a smaller dinner party or a even a wedding. It can make the party feel more intimate and family oriented. Guest like it because they can eat as much as they would on a buffet, but they are still being served. Host like it because it offers all the benefits of having a caterer while still serving a family style meal.

San Diego Wedding Catering company, Eco Caters, helps bride achieve her green wedding dreams
Eco Caters, a San Diego Wedding catering service, worked closely with this bride on making her wedding simple, sustainable, and beautiful. Once she decided to have a beach wedding and reception we talked a lot about having her meal served on china verses biodegradable dishes. She was worried the bio’s wouldn’t be upscale enough to fit a wedding. Once she saw the Verterra plates and utencils, she not only loved them, they made her beach wedding look complete!
These dishes and “wood” wear are a great option for those who are not set on having china. They are made from water and pressed fallen leaves. They’re non-toxic, biodegradable, compostable, durable, lightweight, convenient and downright stylish. You can get everything from plates, bowls, trays and more. They are great for any kind of event. They leave you with no clean up, and you can feel good about throwing them in your composter because soil containing Verterra can actually increase your plants growth by 15%!
For this wedding San Diego Caterer, Eco Cater created a special kid – friendly meal, since there were a good amount of children. This meal was maid up of Baked Chicken Fingers with Carrots, Green Beans, and House Ranch and Honey Mustard. The kids loved it!
The adults also really enjoyed their satisfying summer meal of Farmers Market Salad includes, Best of the Market Greens and Vegetables with a House Vinaigrette Dressing, Braised Beef Brisket with Tomato and Garlic, Grilled Chicken Breast with Mango and Avocado, Mirepoix Quinoa, and Grilled Farmers Market Vegetables, all made by San Diego caterers, Eco Caters.

Eco Caters, a San Diego Catering company, helps throw an amazing store opening in La Jolla
When I first spoke to the owner of Kerut, a new clothing boutique in La Jolla, she told me her store was a mix of “50s Palm Springs meets Morocco meets Nantucket” and she wanted to know if we could make food to match that idea. San Diego Catering company, Eco Caters was up for the challenge and we think we nailed it.
Party goers grazed on San Diego Caters delicious Chef’s Choice Cheese Display with Market Fruit and Preserves. As they sipped on their signature dark and stormy cocktails, guest snacked on passed Melon Basil Skewers with Pistachio Oil and Flake Salt (1950’s), Curry Chicken with California Raisins and Toasted Coriander on Celery Boats (Morocco inspired), and Tuna Tar Tar in Cucumber Cup with Avocado Oil and Preserve Lemon (Nantucket).
San Diego Caters, Eco Caters, worked closely with the client to choose a menu that fit her vision, budget and party needs. We think the end result was an intriguing menu of tasty finger foods.
Having a cocktail party for your store opening is a great way to get the word out and bring traffic in. Even if it is just a little something, your customers appreciate it. It doesn’t have to be just for a grand opening. What about a store anniversary party, or a party during a big sale.
If you are in La Jolla soon you should stop by Kerut. This store has the perfect items for the super stylish and fashionable. Brands like halston heritage, john patrick, kaine, sachin and babi, and commissioned bags by geisha de guadalupe. This store definitely stands out along the rows of shops on Girard Ave. We are so thankful that they chose Eco Caters to cater this party, and hope to work with them again.

Some of those included are Four Seasons Resort, The San Diego Chargers Gold Club, The Belly Up, ‘Canes, La Valencia Hotel, La Jolla Cove Suites, Hotel del Coronado, Humphrey’s, Catalina Country Club, The grand Del Mar, XLNC 1 Classical Radio, KIOZ’s “The Mikey Show” and more.

This venue has many different areas you can rent for the day. They have gardens, gazebos, amphitheaters, a covered patio and more. If you are planning an outdoor wedding, you should really consider checking this place out. The garden is closed after 4pm, so it would be a totally private affair, and with the help of San Diego caterers, Eco Caters, could make this event as unique as you are as a couple.
If you are not planning an event, it is still a nice place to go on a lazy sunday. The Water Conservation Garden has nearly five acres of displays that showcase water conservation through a series of beautiful themed gardens, such as a native plant garden and a vegetable garden, as well as how-to displays such as mulch and irrigation exhibits. Admission is free, and the Garden can be viewed on a self-guided tour, or through one of their programs.
The Garden can be a learning laboratory for the dedicated gardener, a delightful place for an afternoon stroll, or a place to gather lots of information about water-wise, or California-Friendly® gardening, while attending a fun family festival.
The Garden is supported by water district dues, and by memberships, donations, grants, facility rentals, and gift shop sales. In 2005, Friends of the Water Conservation was created to increase private support for the Garden.

W.L. Gore and Associates Corporate Luncheon – Eco Caters, Orange County Caterers
Our Los Angeles Catering and San Diego Catering divisions got together to cater this two-day event with a total guest count of over 500 people. This was a wonderful event held at Irvine Lakes, which is 750 acres of fishing and camping for families or large groups located just minutes off the Orange County main freeways. The Irvine Company and the Serrano Irrigation District (today known as the Serrano Water District) began construction on the Irvine Lake dam in 1929. The construction was completed and the lake was filled in 1931. In early 1930’s Irvine Lake was stocked with largemouth bass, catfish and panfish prior to opening in 1941. Today, Serrano Water District provides drinking water to Villa Park and some parts of the City of Orange. Its rustic scenery and beautiful mountains surrounding the lake made for a breathtaking backdrop.
When a large event such as this uses our organic catering and our biodegradable cutlery (forks, knives, and alike), it really makes us feel great! They not only chose our Farmer’s Market organic catering menu of sandwiches and wraps, but they chose our fresh squeezed lemonade, iced teas and water with cucumber and lemon. Many guests commented on how fresh everything tasted and how wonderful the set up was. We look forward to catering their next corporate gathering. Hopefully the view will be just as spectacular.
The Los Angeles Catering Division of Eco Caters loves this Mid-Century Modern Eco-Friendly Catering Venue
Marrakesh House is a spectacular eco-friendly venue on a secluded hillside in Culver City. The 4,300 square foot Mid-Century Modern stunner is threaded with Moroccan design and contains several ideal indoor/outdoor settings for weddings, rehearsal dinners, cocktail parties, corporate events and other social gatherings. The venue can seat up to 150 guests seated and upwards of 300 for cocktail parties
The number of green elements infused into the house are endless! To start, the solar-paneled roof, powered by Mitsubishi Electric, produces enough energy to supply approximately 60% of the house’s electricity. Dig deeper and you’ll find all the wood used in the house is FSC certified (Forest Stewardship Council).
A two panel solar thermal array which can heat water for four people on average and an on-demand hot water heater is used in the kitchen. The cabinets in the kitchen and bar are made of FSC formaldehyde-free bamboo and toilets in the house are low-flow to reduce water consumption.
Step outside of the Morocco-themed rooms and you’ll find the the organic living food garden. The three-season garden, designed by Christy Wilhelmi, is filled with a variety of edible plants, housed in wood planters post-consumer milk crates. An organic garden wouldn’t be complete without a compost bin, worm bin, and chicken coop. The Marrakesh house has it all!
You can tour the property by contacting Laura Gatewood at laura@firecircle.com. They are available for tours Monday through Friday 11am – 6pm and Saturday 11am – 4pm.
