What once housed 600 volts of readied power, now hosts stylish wedding and Hollywood parties. Our Los Angeles wedding catering team was on hand for this incredible wedding.
The Huron Substation is a beautifully restored industrial railway station. Built in 1906 this historic brick building was designed to convert high-voltage electricity supplied by the Edison Company to the Los Angeles Railway lines.
The Huron Substation definitely has its own character and stands out as a unique, offbeat wedding location. It’s also reasonably priced for a Los Angeles wedding venue and a breeze for any Los Angeles wedding caterer! Some of its features include: 8” diorama style bar (on wheels), ceiling mounted surround sound system (with iPod dock), 14” wide projector screen system, full kitchen, Wi-Fi (always a plus), and access to 3,500 square feet of space via the main room, courtyard and mezzanine. As a company who’s business practices also utilize restrainable ideas our Los Angeles wedding catering company fell in love with the Huron Station.
When newly engaged Lockell and Chris approached our Los Angeles wedding catering company for their wedding, they wanted to carry the sustainable atmosphere of the Huron Substation into their cuisine. Since our Los Angeles wedding caterers have catered and coordinated many weddings at the Huron Substation and our kitchen serves all organic and local food, it was a perfect…marriage. These are the kinds of places we love being apart of as Los Angeles wedding caterer.
Our Los Angels wedding catering team helped bring this wedding event to life but it’s the wonderful photography of Luminaire Images that preserved it for everyone to witness. I’ll let the warm photographs of Luminaire Images Photography tell you the rest:
Erin and Dan designed their one-of-a-kind wedding at the Paramount Ranch by infusing their quirky personality, sense of adventure and detailing it with a little rustic décor. Our Los Angeles wedding caterers were on hand to pull off this auspicious occasion.
The Paramount Ranch was used 50 years ago as a western film set, but it’s no ghost town. The Paramount Ranch is a one-of-a-kind wedding spot and if you’re in the market for a wedding location you owe yourself a visit. It’s cheaper to rent than almost any place in Los Angeles, and it’s beautiful! There’s a reason so many TV shows and movies were filmed on the 2,700-acre ranch. The scenery is peaceful, untouched and breathtaking. You can walk in any direction and feel like you’re in a romantic movie. Its a bit of a hall for a Los Angeles wedding caterer but there is plenty of space for a company to set up an on-sight kitchen.
The park centers on a quaint western town surrounded by steep Santa Monica Mountains. The town has it all: jail, hotel, train station, stables, barbershop, storefronts and more. The prize of the town is the Saloon. The Saloon makes for one of the most unique cocktail hours I’ve ever seen.
Our Los Angeles wedding catering company had so much fun bartending from the Saloon. Our Los Angeles wedding caterers poured dark beer in classic mugs, red wine straight from oak barrels, and sarsaparilla for the kiddies. The couple also brought in a rousing four-piece bluegrass band to play on the boardwalk in front of the hotel. With suds sloshing in everyone’s mug and the toe tappin’ music… it was quite the wedding party!
After cocktail hour had wrapped, guests meandered over to the dining hall where our all organic, Los Angeles wedding catering company had set up tables and chairs decorated with rustic centerpieces of mason jar candles, oil lanterns, twine wrapped bundles of wheat, and vintage table doilies.
For the main course, our Los Angeles wedding caterers served up a beautiful buffet. Serving a wedding buffet style is a great way to save on wedding costs while also making sure your guests get exactly what they want. We served up a nice grilled organic Hanger steak with fresh herbs and grilled shallots, our special Mojo Shrimp Skewers with chopped pineapple and chives on a bed of angel hair pasta, Wild Mushroom Quinoa (which has been a very popular summer menu item), and an assortment of grilled Farmers Market vegetables.
We had such a fun time being apart of Erin and Dan’s unique wedding and we can’t wait to show you more photos. These photos are just a little tease from Marin Rosche, of Marin Rosche Photography. I will post more as soon as they become available.

Los Angeles Wedding Caterer: Eco Caters
Style Me Pretty posts another beautiful Eco wedding that our team both coordinated and catered!
Los Angeles Wedding Coordinator Michelle Rodriguez coordinated this breathtaking Italian wedding along side Eco Captain Dana Strommen at the Mountain Mermaid Inn. Last year Eco Caters took second place in Style Me Pretty’s Best Wedding of The Year. Fingers crossed on another nomination…! Read more…
“We like them bright and we like them happy. And when they’re also incredibly easy on the eyes, we really like that too. This shindig held at The Mountain Mermaid is all of the above, emphasis on the easy on the eyes. It’s petals by Holly Flora who does bright, happy, gorgeous like no other along with a layer of personalized details that scream Italian romance and photography by Llanes Weddings that we could easily stare at all afternoon. You can too, right here.”
The Marvimon House makes for a fun, stylish wedding. Our Los Angeles wedding catering team was on hand to make sure this special day turned out perfectly.
The sign of any good wedding is its tear factor and Camille and Alex jerked the tears of almost every guest that attended their wedding. The ceremony was intimate, personal, flirty and filled with laughter. The couple designed an amazing wedding from top to bottom and it all took place under one roof: The Marvimon House.
The Marvimon House is located just north of downtown Los Angeles and it is the perfect spot to host your ceremony, cocktail hour, the feast, and the dance party. It’s the perfect all-in-one event location. Our Los Angeles wedding catering company caters tons of weddings at the Marvimon House and Camille and Alex’s wedding was one of our favorites. Even our Los Angeles wedding caterers got a little teary after the ceremony.
The couple utilized the style of the Marvimon décor all the way down to the table settings. They pulled off a fun yet chic table arrangement with mismatched silver, goblets, plate patterns and centerpieces. Each guest was also given a bottle of homemade vanilla extract that the family made from scratch. The Vanila came in these little round glass bottles with fun notes attached to them (pictured on the right). I had never been to a wedding where the guests were offered a bottle of vanilla but the gesture seemed so warm and welcoming for the family and friends who received them.
Our organic Los Angeles wedding catering company tray passed an assortment of appetizers fresh from the large kitchen at the Marvimon House. Each hors d’oeuvre was created entirely from local farms and in season produce. Pictured on the left: Our mouthwatering Albacore Bites. Our Los Angeles wedding caterers sears fresh Albacore tuna and lays it over a bed of finely chopped cabbage and green onion tossed with grapefruit and orange juices. The bite-sized morsel is then served to guests on a bamboo spoon.
For the main course our Los Angeles wedding catering team put together a hardy dinner that satisfied the likes of both vegetarians and carnivores. Our kitchen staff arranged platters and bowls of food and sent them out to each table to be passed “family-style”. Serving your wedding reception family-style is a great way to unite family and friends and insure that every guest gets their fill.
As a Los Angeles wedding caterer we want to make sure that the dinners we serve are made from the best ingredients and the most flavorful sauces. We opened Camille and Alex wedding dinner with large bowls of wild arugula tossed with shaved peaches, nectarines, crumbled blue cheese and our tangy House Apple Cider Vinaigrette dressing. For the main course, we brought out platters of grilled grass-fed hanger steak rubbed with fresh herbs and caramelized shallots, a spicy Lime-Cilantro Chicken Breast drizzled in a jerk mango sauce, and a Grilled Vegetable Lasagna with a deep roasted tomato ricotta sauce. To top the feast off our catering team handed guests three yummy sides: roasted Weiser Farms potatoes with marjoram and thyme, our rich Gouda Mac N’ Cheese , and a flavorful cocktail of grilled Farmers Market vegetables.
These gorgeous photos are curtesy of Tec Petaja. I wish I had room to post all of the photos Tec shot of the wedding because he captured so many priceless moments. He captured the day so well. I encourage you to visit his website and check him out! www.tecpetajaphoto.com
Los Angeles Wedding Caterer: Eco Caters
Having our Los Angeles wedding catering company cater and also coordinate your wedding is a simple way to make your wedding planning is easier on you.
Eco Caters does a lot more than than other Los Angeles wedding caterers. We cater great organic food but we also coordinate weddings. Lots of them! As Newlywed Jackie described, our Los Angeles wedding catering company can make your wedding more “streamlined” because our coordinator and catering team work intimately together. After coordinating Jackie and Cody’s wedding Jackie was so excited she wanted to personally share her experience with our clients:
“It is really great to have Michelle as your wedding coordinator because she is affiliated with Eco, so everything becomes that much more streamlined. Aside from that, she is really fun to work with, always available and very professional. With full coordination Michelle was with me for all of my vendor visits (picking out rentals, etc). It was nice to have her there for her opinion and also because she has a relationship with the vendors already. That means a better experience and sometimes even discounts! As for the day of, she was awesome. All of the Eco staff was for that matter. Guests actually commented on how nice everyone was. Michelle just has this way about her where she makes you feel calm and taken care of. I definitely felt like her priority the day of was to make sure I was happy (always had a drink in my hand!)” -Jackie
As a Los Angeles wedding caterer we love hearing that our clients are happy. Our Senior Event Coordinator Michelle coordinated Jackie and Cody’s wedding at their family residence in Palos Verdes (about an hour south of Los Angeles) and we truly enjoyed being apart of every aspect of their wedding. Our team of Los Angeles wedding caterers took care of every detail. The two of them were such a fun couple to work with and we miss our weekly correspondence with them already. We wish you two the best and thank you for choosing us as your Los Angeles wedding caterer!
Our Los Angeles catering office is right across the street from the Smog Shoppe making your catering events that much more simple.
Ashley and Aaron held their wedding ceremony and reception at the fashionable Smog Shoppe (just south of I-10 on La Cienega Blvd). The Smog Shoppe also happens to be right across the street from our Office! Score! As a Los Angeles wedding caterer, we cater tons of events at the Smog Shoppe and since our kitchen is only thirty steps away event planning is a breeze.
The couple wanted to go all out on appetizers for their guests during cocktail hour and since our headquarters was so close Eco Caters was able to take advantage of our full kitchen and prepare some special treats.
Our organic Los Angeles catering company shucked three choice oysters of differing origins: our local California oyster, a northern west coast variety and a popular Japanese oyster. The trio was complimented with our hot and savory horseradish sauce, a traditional mignonette, and a zippy cocktail sauce.
Along with the oyster bar our Los Angeles caterers offered hummus, tabouli, a colorful olive salad, grilled flatbread, marinated artichoke, and our seared Albacore with an orange grapefruit slaw. But the true crowd pleaser of the night was our fresh-from-the-oven Mini Beef Wellingtons with house-made ketchup and our sweet apricot mustard. These juicy morsels do a wonderful job of tiding guests over until dinner and pair well with hoppy beers or a glass of pinot noir.
Pictured Right: The couple decided on some fun wedding cake alternatives by offering guests waffel cones filled with fresh creme and in season berries, and fun popcorn tubs drizzled with carmel and chocolate. These are the kinds of unique detail we love as a Los Angeles caterer.
Ashley and Aaron did a wonderful job putting their wedding together. Planning their wedding in late autumn instead of the high season of spring and summer is a great way to take advantage of lowered rates and a more flexible schedule for wedding vendors. The weather in southern California is just right too! Last weekend was one of those mild weathered weekends perfectly tailored for an outdoor wedding; just warm enough to enjoy the sunshine yet cool enough to avoid sweating like a Coke bottle at a BBQ. We want to thank Ashley and Aaron for choosing Eco Caters as their Los Angeles caterers! (Photos of the event courtesy of Dana Strommen, Event Coordinator at Eco Caters.)
Our Los Angeles wedding catering team helps a couple build an organic wedding buffet to fit their budgetary needs.
Serving your wedding reception buffet style is a great method for feeding large numbers of guests with minimal help. If you’re planning your wedding or business event on a tight budget, our Los Angeles catering company can help save you money by hiring less staff without cutting the quality of the service required for your special event. Tanya and Morten decided to have their organic wedding served buffet style and here is a closer look at the process a lot of our couples go through.
You’ll find that generally as a Los Angeles wedding caterer you have set menus. Our Los Angeles wedding catering team allows you to create a menu completely from scratch, something you won’t find with all Los Angeles wedding caterers. Michelle and Dana sat down and worked with Tanya and Morten to make sure they received the menu they wanted from their Los Angeles wedding caterers. They showed the couple protein options with varying price points and an assortment of side dish options that would compliment them. Once the couple decided on their set menu, our chef reached out to our local farms so that we could take advantage of in season fruits and vegetables to assure freshness.
Salad
We opened up the buffet with a large bowl of fresh greens. Our chef tossed baby spinach with shaved peach, nectarine, crumbled Point Reyes Blue Cheese, and our tangy Apple Cider Vinaigrette.
Main Dishes
For the main course, our Los Angeles wedding catering company grilled a marinated organic hanger steak with fresh rosemary and caramelized shallots. We also served crispy Alaskan king salmon on a bed of fennel onion confit and garnished with fresh dill.
Side Dishes
Tanya and Morten picked three hardy side dishes for their guests: the first was a colorful medley of roasted Weiser Farms potatoes with fresh marjoram and thyme, the second side dish was roasted asparagus marinated in Grapefruit Juice, and lastly, a true crowd pleaser, Eco’s rich and creamy Gouda Mac & Cheese.
As a Los Angeles wedding caterer we enjoy hearing what your needs are in planning your wedding and finding creative ways to make sure that you get exactly what you want.
