Eco Caters, Los Angeles Caterers, fed some hungry actors and members of production at Raleigh Studios in Los Angeles.
As with all celebrity gatherings, we are asked not to speak about who is in attendance at the events that your Los Angeles Catering crew executes. Of course we are keeping to our word and not going to talk about them. But, we can talk about the studio itself and what your Los Angeles Caterers served.
This time we were at Raleigh Studios, a small studio, which most are not aware is one of the oldest studios in Hollywood. They actually beat Paramount to the intersection of Melrose & Bronson by over a decade dating back to February 1915. The studio never became a household name, and settled mainly for renting out its back lot and sound stages to other production companies. It was first known as Clune Studios back in the 20’s. Raleigh Studios has brought us such classics as “In the Heat of the Night”, “The Best Years of Our Lives” and “What Ever Happened to Baby Jane”. You can read more about the studios history at http://www.seeing-stars.com/studios/RaleighStudios.shtml.
Your Los Angeles Caterer came into this event with lots of excitement, partly because of the menu. It showcased some of our Executive Chef, Nick Brune, favorite dishes. I am going to skip straight to the main entrees. Keep in mind this event did have Stationary Hors d’oeuvres and a Buffet of Salad, Mains and Sides. Creole Style Blackened Catfish and Chicken & Sausage Jambalaya. Being our chef is from Louisiana, you know these dishes were on point. To accompany these items was our Garlic Smashed Potatoes and Sesame Green Beans. Continuing to move backward through the menu, they had Best of the Market greens and vegetables with a house vinaigrette dressing. They began their meal with our Antipasto which is Marinated Artichoke, Sweet Peppers with Arugula, Marinated Cherry Tomato with Mozzarella and Mixed Olives along with Farmer’s Market Fruit Display with Local Honey. As a reminder, your Los Angeles Catering crew personally picks the vegetables and fruits from local farms. All of the ingredients are organic. He never uses frozen items.
Eco Caters Los Angeles Wedding Catering loves this Green location for events, especially weddings such as the one featured here.
Marvimon in downtown Los Angeles is green because they reinvented a nearly abandoned, 80 year old structure. They limited the impact from demolition and construction by using as much of the existing structure as possible. They reduced the original structures footprint by 40%. They even salvaged the lumber from their demolition and recycled it to make Marvimon’s rustic tables and benches.
Our Groom made the organic catering selections himself with the help of our Los Angeles Wedding Catering team. Guests began with stationary hor d’oeuvres of Chef’s Choice Cheese Display with Market Fruit and Preserves in addition to Heirloom Salsa Trio with Organic Tortilla Chips. Meanwhile servers were tray passing a flavorful arrangement of Organic Beef Sliders with Caramelized Onion and Smoked Chedder, Seared Albacore with Orange Grapefruit Slaw, and Melon Basil Skewers with Pistachio Oil. The salad choice was a refreshing mix of Wild Arugula with Peach, Nectarine, Chevre and Apple Cider Vinaigrette.
This wedding of over 100 people were enjoying the dishes created by our Executive Chef Nick Brune so much they wanted more, but it was time for the main course. The flavors continued to pop serving Grilled Organic Sirloin with Fresh Herbs and Caramelized Shallot & Pan Seared Rockfish with Cali-Crystal Beurre Blanc. The sides of Garlic Smashed Potatoes and Grilled Farmer’s Market Vegetables accompanied the main dishes perfectly.
Going back to this fantastic venue which our Los Angeles Wedding Caterers love so much. Originally built by an Italian race car driver in 1924 as one of LA’s first automobile showrooms, Marvimon has reinvented itself as a stand alone, super-loft open to events, exhibitions, productions and fine living. To see more about Marimon or to book your next event there, please go to www.marvimon.com.
Our Los Angeles catering company, Eco Caters, is right across the street from the Smog Shoppe making your catering events that much more simple.
Ashley and Aaron held their wedding ceremony and reception at the fashionable Smog Shoppe (just south of I-10 on La Cienega Blvd). The Smog Shoppe also happens to be right across the street from our Office! Score! Your all-organic Los Angeles caterer caters tons of events at the Smog Shoppe and since our kitchen is only thirty steps away event planning is a breeze.
The couple wanted to go all out on appetizers for their guests during cocktail hour and since our Los Angeles catering branch was so close, Eco Caters was able to take advantage of our full kitchen and prepare some special treats. Something other Los Angeles caterers may not have the luxury of doing.
Our all-organic Los Angeles catering company shucked three choice oysters of differing origins: our local California oyster, a northern west coast variety and a popular Japanese oyster. The trio was complimented with our hot and savory horseradish sauce, a traditional mignonette, and a zippy cocktail sauce. It’s the extra steps our team takes to set us apart from any other Los Angeles caterer.
Along with the oyster bar guests were offered hummus, tabouli, a colorful olive salad, grilled flatbread, marinated artichoke, and our seared Albacore with an orange grapefruit slaw. But the true crowd pleaser of the night was our fresh-from-the-oven Mini Beef Wellingtons with house-made ketchup and our sweet apricot mustard. These juicy morsels do a wonderful job of tiding guests over until dinner and pair well with hoppy beers or a glass of pinot noir.
Ashley and Aaron did a wonderful job putting their wedding together and choosing Eco Caters all organic food over other Los Angeles cateres. Planning their wedding in late autumn instead of the high season of spring and summer is a great way to take advantage of lowered rates and a more flexible schedule for wedding vendors. The weather in southern California is just right too! Last weekend was one of those mild weathered weekends perfectly tailored for an outdoor wedding; just warm enough to enjoy the sunshine yet cool enough to avoid sweating like a Coke bottle at a BBQ.

If you’re going to have a country style wedding, you’re going to need some homemade food.
I don’t know if its simply because I grew up on a farm, or the fact that I love western movies but, I love country style weddings! The fashion is timeless, fits any budget, everyone lets loose, and free romantic scenery compliments of Mother Nature.
Lauryn and Colby would agree with me. They too wanted that classic Americana look of a country style wedding. And, when you have a wedding out in the country you’re going to need some good ol’ homemade cookin’ for an all-organic Los Angeles caterer. It’s a must! Our Los Angeles catering company constructed a homemade, all-organic menu from scratch to fit our client’s exact wishes. We also only buy food for our weddings the day before the event so it’s as fresh as the farm it came from, something you won’t find other Los Angeles caterers doing.
Another quality Eco Caters had over other Los Angeles caterers is we can also design your event! Event Coordinator Dana Strommen coordinated the couples wedding and helped them create a delicious menu made up of seasonal fruits and vegetables, local cheeses, and California caught seafood. The rest of the ingredients we prepare from scratch out of our Culver City kitchen.
For the main course our Los Angeles catering team served: mixed baby greens tossed with crumbled bleu cheese, crisp shallots, and carrots, and our flavorful citrus vinaigrette; for protein we plated local halibut fresh off the grill; and for sides we served black truffle mashed potato’s, corn on the cob, angel-hair pasta, and the most beautiful, hardy, green beans we’ve ever seen.

A vintage Mountain Mermaid Inn Wedding Video.
We wanted to share this heartwarming wedding video by wedding videographer Daniel Chae. Daniel did an amazing job capturing the subtle moments and cute exchanges David and Maite shared during their vintage-style wedding at the Mountain Mermaid Inn (Topanga Canyon, California). The tightly edited piece was scored with Set Your Sails by Future of Forestry and it matches the mood love of the day quite appropriately.
A wonderful collection of photos from Daniel Chae and his crew will be coming soon! Stay tuned!
The true cost of a wedding knot. I know this isn’t the most exciting thing to say but, statistics are fun! Especially when they’re helpful and look cool.
Bottom line, the Saddlerock Ranch is one of southern California’s most beautiful wedding venues, and warrants some serious style points.
When one thinks of a “classic California wedding” it probably conjures up images of rustic red mountains, sunny skies, Spanish colonial architecture, and possibly a few horses galloping through stretched out pastures bordered by white wooden fence. In my opinion, no place in the Los Angeles area nails the timeless California wedding style quite like the Saddlerock Ranch.
The Saddlerock Ranch is 100,000 acres of land hidden away in the Santa Monica Mountains, just east of Malibu. The property has a 65-acre vineyard, an old romantic oak grove, several gardens, and a beautiful home worthy of such an estate. The hardest part will be deciding which of the four beautiful locations you’d like to have your event at! They all have their own unique qualities and sceneries.
Eco Caters, an all-organic Los Angeles wedding caterer was honored to serve our local, made from scratch cusine for Harper and Aaron’s breathtaking wedding at the Saddlerock Ranch. Since our Los Angeles catering company takes pride in our local food selections, we loved that the ranch does the same by serving its own wine at their events. It’s exciting to sit down for dinner and enjoy a great glass of wine on the land that it grew.
The couple wanted a family-style dinner and our Los Angeles catering team was more than happy to accommodate. It’s fun to see guests passing dishes and platters around the table. It strengthens the family bond, makes everyone happy, and the dishes always come back to the kitchen scraped clean. That makes us happy! Something we pride ourselves on over other Los Angeles wedding caterers.
Our all-organic Los Angeles wedding catering company started off with our classic baby mix green’s Salad: Fresh greens, ripe cherry tomatoes, crisp shallots, crumbled Point Reyes Blue cheese, and our House Apple Cider Vinaigrette. Each bit is light, flavorful and bursting with freshness. We feel our salad is simply fresher and tastier than other Los Angeles wedding caterers.
The next course our Los Angeles catering company dished up was a platter of our Braised Short Rib with annatto, a hint of orange zest and garlic; a crunchy polenta crusted chicken with House made Lemon Herb Crème Fraiche; A bowl of Wild Mushroom Quinoa; Our deliciously and rich
Gouda Mac and Cheese; last but not least, a dish of our
Grilled Farmer’s Market Vegetables purchased straight from the market.
Our team had such a fun time at Harper and Aaron’s wedding. We want to thank them and the staff of the Saddlerock Ranch for being so hospitable. We look forward to our next visit! Cheers!

Our Los Angeles wedding catering team coordinated and catered this beautiful outdoor wedding at the Oak Canyon Nature Center.
Newly engaged couple Stacie and Mike reached out to our Los Angeles wedding catering company to cater their intimate, family wedding. They were excited to learn that Michelle, our Senior Event Coordinator, could also help them coordinate their special day as well. That meant fewer headaches and one less person to hire.
In the past, we’ve run into couples that needed a Los Angeles wedding caterer to coordinate their wedding too. Some couples need a Los Angeles wedding caterer to coordinate their wedding from start to finish, and some couples that just wanted a little wedding coordinator assistance the day of. Either way, your Los Angeles catering company is here to help! Having your catering company coordinate makes the wedding planning so much easier for everyone involved. Our goal is the same as yours: to pull off a perfect wedding while making sure that you and your guests have a memorable experience. What easier way to plan a wedding than to have your catering company and your wedding coordinator working on the same team.
Michelle helped Stacie and Mike make their wedding uniquely their own by helping them incorporate some of their family traditions while also weaving in some of the couple’s own ideas. Our Los Angeles catering company served all-organic food, something that was very important to our clients. Michelle gave them sound advice from her many years as a wedding and event planner. Michelle also knew how to get the couple discounts with certain vendors in Los Angeles area and also helped them find an inexpensive outdoor venue. In the end, Michelle was able to save the couple money, hours of headache and introduce them to cool vendors and services that they otherwise would not have discovered. That’s something we pride ourselves on over other Los Angeles wedding caterers.
If you or someone you know is on the wedding planning hunt in the LA area please don’t hesitate to reach out to Michelle or Dana at our Los Angeles branch Eco Caters! No matter how big or small your questions may be, they’re happy to help.

What separates a good wedding from a great wedding? The details.
There are tons of Los Angeles wedding caterers in southern California and they’re good at pumping food out of their kitchen. These Los Angeles wedding caterers generally buy frozen or premade food and arrange them on a platter that they’ve jazzed up with a few flowers. Since your wedding is a once in a lifetime occasion and you generally don’t hire catering companies on a regular basis, you probably won’t realize the details your catering company will skimp on until it’s all said and done. This is where Eco Caters comes in!
Our Los Angeles wedding catering company realize that a wedding is a once in a lifetime occasion, and we pride ourselves on our unwavering dedication to detail. We are experienced chefs, servers, event coordinators and food artists; we take care of the details that matter so you won’t have to worry about them the day or your event. We are an all-organic Los Angeles wedding caterer. Eco Caters is based out of Los Angeles, San Diego and most recently, Washington D.C. Our catering company uses certified organic food that’s been locally sourced and seasonally grown. Starting with our sourcing and ending with the garnish on each plate, we believe it’s these details that make our food taste undeniably fresh, mouth wateringly flavorful, and overall making your Los Angeles wedding catering the wedding food of your dreams.
Below are photos taken from the recently catered wedding of Annie and Jon. Dana Strommen, Eco Caters’ Event Coordinator, worked with this lovely couple to create the ideal wedding menu; from the hor‘dourves served at cocktail hour to the wedding couple’s post ceremony sampler platter; it’s all in the details. I wanted to share these photos with you because they demonstrate the personalized details our catering company puts into each and every one of our clients’ events over another Los Angeles wedding caterer.
