San Diego Catering company, Eco Caters, were thrilled to help this couple achieve a green wedding!

From the moment we met this couple, their dedication to being green and aiding in the protection of our earth was very prevalent. They chose centerpieces that used brightly colored citrus fruits, which guest took home to use later. They also chose to serve their meal on our very cool Verterra plates. They even had us save them to be re-used after the wedding! We were so happy to be able to cater their wedding.

San Diego caterer, Eco Caters, served up a filling meal of an organic Farmers Market Salad with a House Vinaigrette Dressing, savory Braised Beef Brisket with Tomato, Garlic, Olives, and Preserve Lemon, and our most popular Grilled Chicken Breast with Mango and Avocado. The sides consisted of  our decadent Garlic Smashed Potatoes, and summer fresh Grilled Farmer’s Market Vegetables.

Guest really enjoyed the meal and the couple enjoyed being able to serve everyone a healthy organic meal. San Diego Catering company, Eco Caters, may not be the only organic catering company, but we do strive to be the best. All of our kitchen methods help us produce little to no waste. We purchase most of our food from local farmers and can provide totally compost-able corn products, for those who want something different from china and silver. We even have Verterra plates. These plates are made of nothing more then fallen leaves and hot water and look absolutely stunning for a beach our outdoor wedding. Why not go green for your big day? San Diego caterer, Eco Caters can make it easy for you.

Eco Caterers, a San Diego Wedding Caterer, Serves Yummy Small Bites at a Wedding at Powerhouse Park

This young, fun couple wanted something different than a normal sit down meal or buffet for their wedding.  They knew they had a very social group of friends and family, so they chose San Diego Wedding caterer, Eco Caters, to provide a stationary appitzer buffet for their wedding reception.

The meal consisted of Maggie’s Wild Arugula with Julienne Onion, Feta, and a refreshing Pear Mustard Seed Vinaigrette,  San Diego Catering company Eco Caters, decadent Albacore Salad Tartine with Chive and Nicoise Olives, filling Southern Pasta Salad with Local Olives, Celery, Onion, and Lemon, Spicy Chicken Skewers with Marjoram Red Pepper Yogurt, and our very popular Organic Beef Sliders with Smoked Cheddar and Tomato.

For dessert, the brides friend provided the most perfect lemon cupcakes on a very cool homemade stand.

The room was filled with pops of yellow and gray, which matched the venue and its wonderful sunset very well. Alesha Ballón, the designing diva for Ever After Events, worked really hard to make this brides vision come true. Tables were set with adorable yellow flower arrangements, each with the table named after them. They had an all yellow candy buffet, and even made yellow and gray signs for the buffet! You could tell a lot of time went into every detail, which added to the memorable evening.

This wedding took place at Powerhouse Park in Del Mar, a real staple to the area, and great place to hold a party! San Diego Catering company, Eco Caters, will be doing a few more weddings there soon and we are happy to get to work with them again.

San Diego Wedding Catering company, Eco Caters, helps bride achieve her green wedding dreams

Eco Caters, a San Diego Wedding catering service, worked closely with this bride on making her wedding simple, sustainable, and beautiful. Once she decided to have a beach wedding and reception we talked a lot about having her meal served on china verses biodegradable dishes. She was worried the bio’s wouldn’t be upscale enough to fit a wedding. Once she saw the Verterra plates and utencils, she not only loved them, they made her beach wedding look complete!

These dishes and “wood” wear are a great option for those who are not set on having china. They are made from water and pressed fallen leaves. They’re non-toxic, biodegradable, compostable, durable, lightweight, convenient and downright stylish. You can get everything from plates, bowls, trays and more. They are great for any kind of event. They leave you with no clean up, and you can feel good about throwing them in your composter because soil containing Verterra can actually increase your plants growth by 15%!

For this wedding San Diego Caterer, Eco Cater created a special kid – friendly meal, since there were a good amount of children. This meal was maid up of Baked Chicken Fingers with Carrots, Green Beans, and House Ranch and Honey Mustard. The kids loved it!

The adults also really enjoyed their satisfying summer meal of Farmers Market Salad includes, Best of the Market Greens and Vegetables with a House Vinaigrette Dressing, Braised Beef Brisket with Tomato and Garlic, Grilled Chicken Breast with Mango and Avocado, Mirepoix Quinoa, and Grilled Farmers Market Vegetables, all made by San Diego caterers, Eco Caters.

The night was completed by a beautiful sunset, warm breeze and dancing in the sand. This couple also chose to rent a private beach house. We have all the information if you to would like to hold your event at a private ocean front home. It really does make your event memorable and intimate.

A special thank you to Pamela Marches Photography, for the amazing images. Pamela has such a unique eye for photography and doesn’t miss a moment, check her out for your upcoming event!

Eco Caters, a San Diego caterer, loves the San Diego Botanical Gardens (formerly the Quail Botanical Gardens)! For the meal San Diego Caterer, Eco Caters came up with a custom Asian Inspired meal for the young couple. Eco Caters served a buffet featuring entree’s of Kahlua Pork, Grilled Mahi Mahi with Mango Salsa, and Vegetable Pad Thai. The sides were equally exciting and guest kept coming back for more of the Veggie Stir Fry, Mirepoix Quinoa, and Farmer’s Market Salad.

Guest laughed and mingled as the groom and bride formed their receiving line. Instead of a normal receiving line this couple choose to hand out a decadent cupcake to every guest as they hugged and chatted. It was a very cute “thank you” from the couple. Guest loved it because it gave them time alone with the couple, and they got the chance to take some photos together.

The cupcakes were supplied by Extraordinary Desserts, a San Diego staple. If you have not yet been to this bakery, you must go! They have some of the most decadent and outrageous looking cakes and desserts. Whenever I have company in town I love taking them to Extraordinary Desserts after a night on the town. They offer 2 locations, both with a lounge/ bar  feel, sure to impress.

This April San Diego Catering company Eco Caters  helped a vegan bride celebrate with a vegan fiesta!

Held in the beautiful Seagrove Park, Del Mar.  San Diego caterer, Eco Caters, provided a vegan fiesta starting with some spicy Hors D’Oeuvres including: a Salsa Trio and Guacamole with Chips, minced Mushrooms with Cumin and delicious vegan Mexican pies with a fresh Cilantro dip. The guest sipped on fresh squeezed Lemonade, Red Wine Sangria and a refreshing muddled herb spritzer with Basil, Cilantro and Mint. A “Best of Market” Green Salad was then devoured with a light house vinaigrette. For the main meal San Diego Caterer, Eco Caters put together a vegan feast of Jalepeno Black Beans, Cilantro Rice, Grilled Seasonal Veggies with Portobello Mushrooms, with Flour Tortillas.

We can create a custom menu for almost ever kind of cuisine. Spanish tapas, an island cocktail party, meditraian inpired dished, or even an Asian feast. Eco Caters will work with you on what your dream wedding meal.

San Diego Catering company Eco Caters simply loved Seagrove Park in Del Mar, it  is a great place to hold an outdoor wedding. It has great views of the ocean, soft grass underfoot and the most romantic sunsets. This is a popular spot for weddings and gatherings. Seagrove Park is also a great place to picnic, particulary on the lawn at the parks edge, overlooking the ocean. Seagrove Park sits on the edge of a bluff at the end of 15th Street, which overlooks Del Mar City Beach. It’s not uncommon for dolphins to appear beyond the shore break at Seagrove Park. The reef makes beach a popular spot for surfers.

Eco Caters San Diego Catering Division Serves Organic Cuisine at Private Home Wedding in Del Mar

Although we had rough weather all week it cleared up and turned out to be a perfect day for this beautiful wedding in Del Mar.  Eco Caters provided all organic food to the friends and family of the bride and groom on this unbelievable April evening.  The ceremony was held in the back yard and then everyone moved to the front for a drink and some organic hors d’oeuvres.  We started off with stationary hors d’oeuvres during the cocktail hour which included a Chef’s Choice Cheese Display with Market Fruit and Preserves (pictured above), Antipasto with Marinated Artichoke, Sweet Peppers with Arugula, Marinated Cherry Tomato with Mozzarella, and Mixed Olives and a mixed slider platter boasting Curry Chicken Salad with California Golden Raisins, Muffoletta with Olive Salad and Provolone (pictured above), and Grilled Eggplant with Tomato, Arugula, and Marjoram Aioli.  During the cocktail hour the photographer was snapping photos of the guests and our food (all pictures above) which all came out very nice.  They can be found at www.barnettphoto.com.  After about 1 hour of mingling the guests moved back to the back yard where the set up had been transformed by the Eco Caters staff and ready for the dinner buffet.  As guests sat down we brought them a plated salad which consisted of Organic Mixed Greens with Goat Cheese, Sliced Almonds, 9 Grain Croutons, Goji Berries, and Avocado Dressing.  The heartfelt toasts ended as we opened up the buffet which people were very excited about.  The chafers were nicely filled with Rosemary Marjoram Chicken Breast finished with a Wild Mushroom Sauce, Pan Seared Rockfish with Cali-Crystal Beurre Blanc, Wild Mushroom Quinoa and Grilled Farmers Market Vegetables.  We also put out fresh baked organic french bread and honey whipped butter with dinner.  All of the produce was bought from local organic farms, much of which came from Suzie’s Farm in San Diego.  The seafood was sustainably caught by Catalina Offshore and the chicken organic free range from Northern California.

After dinner guests continued to mingle around enjoying each others company and some dessert with Eco Caters organic fair trade coffee and tea service.  The dessert was a spread of different options made by the mother of the bride and friends.  The bride and groom actually came out from the east coast and picked Eco Caters San Diego Catering division specifically because we serve organic cuisine.  We could tell that they had a knack for organic food as well when we saw the organic vegetable and herb garden in the side yard.  It is always great to serve fresh organic cuisine in a lovely setting to people who truly appreciate it.  We look forward to more Del Mar catering events and weddings, especially the ones with a view of the ocean!

San Diego Catering Company Serves at the Thursday Club

La Jolla Catering company, Eco Caters filled the Thursday Club, in San Diego with some amazing food April 3rd. It all started with a stunning presentation of a of Chef’s Choice Cheese Display with Market Fruit and Preserves, Mezze Platter with Hummus Trio, Tabouleh, Olives Salad, and Fresh Pita. Guest then grazed on our signature “Best of Market” veggies and greens, served with a house made vinaigrette. San Diego caterer, Eco Caters then served up a mix of both Blackened  Mahi Mahi burritos and Veggie Black Bean and Rice burritos, all accompanied by Grilled Farmers Market Vegetables and Sesame green Beans. San Diego caterer, Eco Caters, thought it was very “Cali” of the couple to serve fish burritos at their wedding. We would suggest any couple doing throwing a destination wedding, or a wedding with a lot of out of towner’s, to have a local favorite as one of their choices. Many people who come to weddings don’t get the chance to try the local resturant or a favorite dish while visiting. By giving them this at your wedding, it creates a truly memorable and special event.

The Thursday Club of San Diego was founded in 1921 to promote social, educational, cultural, and civic activities. In 1927, the Club received a deed of property in the Sunset Cliffs area from Mr. R. E. Mills of the Pantages-Mills-Shreve Company. Ground was broken for a clubhouse that year, and in 1928, the project was completed. Today, the Clubhouse is renowned as a beautiful San Diego landmark. Just wait until you see the pictures from this wedding, the brides dress is just as unique as the San Diego Catering that went with the wedding!

Thank you to Bauman Photographers for the awesome images. For the many that have asked the brides dress is from wai-ching, and makes a real statement.

Eco Caters a San Diego Catering Company Delivers  a Simple and Organic Wedding

This was a very nice, private backyard wedding.  It was simple and it portrayed the couple perfectly without any unnecessary distractions.  The organic San Diego catering started off at cocktail hour with tray passed and stationary hors d’oeuvres. San Diego caterer, Eco Caters then  helped the party transition into a family style meal. One of our increasingly popular choices is the family style meal. It works great for social families and those who want a smaller more intimate feel to their wedding.

With the amazing views of San Diego and the ocean, San Diego caterer, Eco Caters could not have been in a better place.  The menu included stationary hors d’oeuvres which consisted of a chef’s choice cheese display with aged gouda, goregonzola, humboldt fog and chevre with honey and truffle with market fruit and preserves as well as hierloom salsa, mango salsa and guacamole with organic tortilla chips.  The tray pass hors d’oeuvres were very well liked, they consisted of assorted organic sliders, including ground sirloin with smoked cheddar, roma tomato, and homemade aioli, apricot turkey slider with apple, arugula, and house mustard and grilled portabella with mixed greens, and basil aioli.

For the plated salad, we served mixed greens with goat cheese, sliced almonds, nine grain croutons, goji berries, and avocado dressing.  Finally the main dishes and sides were served family style with one main and one side on each platter.  The first platter was smoked chili rubbed tri-tip with a fire roasted pepper sauce with mac-n-cheese with cave aged gruyere.  The second platter was grilled pacific fish with cilantro jalapeno oil alongside grilled farmers market vegetables.  For dessert Erin and Ryan decided to go with Apple Cobbler instead of wedding cake which everyone enjoyed very much.

This couple wanted to add something exciting and different to their appetizers, to they chose our fruit Melon Basil Skewers with Pistachio Oil, and refreshing Cucumber Cups with Mango, Jicama, Chili, and Lime.

A brunch is a great way to bring guest together one more time. If a lot of your guest are traveling, it gives them an activity to do before they go back home, and they feel like they really got to see the bride and groom. We can do anything from a waffle station, to custom omelets and even a smoothie bar!

This couple used sustainable succulents as center pieces, which lasted well after Sunday’s brunch. These center pieces can also make great favors or gifts.
