San Diego Catering company Eco Caters provides a picnic lunch for Cesar Millan and Scooby-Doo

Cesar Millan and his Great Dog Adventure hit San Diego this week. The event  featured a  50-dog pack walk in San Diego led by Cesar Millan, a picnic lunch catered by green company Eco Caters, live animal presentation, and opportunities to explore the San Diego Zoo, a book signing with Scooby-Doo and Cesar Millan, and a giant scavenger hunt.

Dog enthusiast filled Heritage Park in Old Town for a delicious picnic lunch and some family fun. Organic catering company Eco Caters provided freshly made wraps, chips and brownies for all the volunteers and event attendees. Eco Caters is a San Diego based company that uses all organic food, purchased from local farmers. Eco Caters also subscribes to a “no-waste” mentality, which makes a difference at an event this size.  They compost all of their food scraps and never waste any food.

The picnic was filled with dog loving people and their adorable pooches, all set on the amazing Heritage Park lawn. Heritage Park, maintained by the San Diego County Department of Parks & Recreation, is home to stately Victorian homes that were moved there during the ’40s in order to protect them for generations to come. The area includes Senlis Cottage 1896, Sherman-Gilbert House 1887, Italiante Christian House 1889, Queen Anne McConaughy House 1887, Stick Eastlake Burton House 1887, Classic Revival Temple Beth Israel 1889, Classic revival and the oldest Jewish temple in the city.

It is an amazing place for a wedding, party, and of course the Great Dog Adventure.  The Great Dog Adventure, created by Cesar Millan and his team was the first event of this kind. It featured a contest to win a vacation in San Diego and more doggie prizes. Guest got the pleasure to meet and learn from Dog Whisperer Cesar Millan.

Eco Caters, a San Diego Catering company, helps throw an amazing store opening in La Jolla

When I first spoke to the owner of Kerut, a new clothing boutique in La Jolla, she told me her store was a mix of “50s Palm Springs meets Morocco meets Nantucket” and she wanted to know if we could make food to match that idea. San Diego Catering company, Eco Caters was up for the challenge and we think we nailed it.

Party goers grazed on  San Diego Caters delicious  Chef’s Choice Cheese Display with Market Fruit and Preserves. As they sipped on their signature dark and stormy cocktails, guest snacked on passed Melon Basil Skewers with Pistachio Oil and Flake Salt (1950’s), Curry Chicken with California Raisins and Toasted Coriander on Celery Boats (Morocco inspired), and Tuna Tar Tar in Cucumber Cup with Avocado Oil and Preserve Lemon (Nantucket).

San Diego Caters, Eco Caters, worked closely with the client to choose a menu that fit her vision, budget and party needs. We think the end result was an intriguing menu of tasty finger foods.

Having a cocktail party for your store opening is a great way to get the word out and bring traffic in. Even if it is just a little something, your customers appreciate it. It doesn’t have to be just for a grand opening. What about a store anniversary party, or a party during a big sale.

If you are in La Jolla soon you should stop by Kerut. This store has the perfect items for the super stylish and fashionable. Brands like  halston heritage, john patrick, kaine, sachin and babi, and commissioned bags by geisha de guadalupe. This store definitely stands out along the rows of shops on Girard Ave.  We are so thankful that they chose Eco Caters to cater this party, and hope to work with them again.

For almost 35 years, the Beylik Family has been dedicated to producing the very best produce possible from their farm near Fillmore in Ventura County. Sometimes the phrase “family business” is said because it sounds nice. Here it is more than mere words. Four generations of Beylik’s work and care for their crops every day. Their produce is available exclusively through Certified Farmer’s Markets from Santa Barbara to Los Angeles.

A really cool thing about this farm is that they keep their plants pollinated and in season year around, to do so these guys have released bees into their indoor facility as well as fans to keep the temperature where it needs to be. You can visit them at www.beylikfarms.com to learn more about their farm.

Organic Catering for a  Private Dinner in Carlsbad

Eco Caters set out to Carlsbad to prepare a sit down dinner for a private residence. The host chose to start the meal with organic caterer, Eco Caters, savory Truffled Grilled Cheese and fresh Ahi Tuna Sashimi. The Organic Catering company then plated Tempura Fried Egg Yolk with House Cured Pork Belly as an appetizer, followed by Caprese Salad with Tomato, Basil and Mozzerella. For the entree we served, Sliced Beef Tenderloin with Glazed Carrots and Truffle Potato Puree, and Shrimp and Scallop Skewers with Paprika, Cayenne, Garlic, and Chive on a bed of Papardelle; finished with Lemon, Living Tree Olive Oil, and Basil. The meal closed with intriguing house made Profiteroles and Avocado Ice Cream Topped with Warm Piru Canyon Sage Honey.

All items were made from scratch by organic caterer, Eco Caters. Even the ice cream was handmade! You guest would really enjoy being treated to such a quality meal, and you can feel good about supporting your local farmers and artisans while having a great party. If you want to learn more about where we source a lot of our food, please check out our farms page, there you will get a sense of how much love goes into the produce and products that we use.

The meal was filled with good conversation and tasty food. You may have never thought to hire a catering company for a small private event, but by doing so you free up yourself to enjoy the party and actually interact with your guest. Eco Caters Organic Catering can do as little or as much as you feel is needed, from lending a helping hand in the kitchen, to shopping for, preparing, serving and cleaning up the entire meal. Think of Eco Caters for you next event, no matter the size.

“Jidori” is a Japanese term and the simplest translation means “chicken of the earth.” It was a term Jidori Chicken first began using around 15 years ago to market to the many talented Japanese chefs heading the kitchens of some of the best restaurants in Los Angeles. These chefs began the “Asian-fusion” cooking movement that demanded the freshest quality ingredients much like their sushi traditions. From there Jidori Chicken expanded its reach to include many chefs and restaurants looking for the highest quality and freshest chicken available.  As each executive chef or sous chef left to open a new restaurant, the chicken followed.

The freshness of these all-natural USDA-inspected chickens can be tasted after cooking, which can be described as creamy, yet firm, with a natural chicken flavor.  We use Jidori Chicken for many of our menu items.  When we order chicken from Jidori they process the chickens that same day so we know we are getting the freshest product available anywhere.  What’s been available only to restaurants and catering companies in the Los Angeles area is now available to everyone, even to your home kitchen.  Find out more about Jidori Chicken and how to order online at www.jidorichicken.com.

Specialty Produce distributes produce throughout San Diego County and beyond.  They offer all types of fresh produce and sell directly to many restaurants and catering companies.  Whenever we cannot find produce straight from the farm we go to Specialty.  We especially like their Farmers Market Program, which brings fresh fruits and veggies down from the Wednesday Farmers Market in Santa Monica to San Diego.  We often get stuff from Wiser Farms, Beylik Farms among others through this program.  We can also source certified organic produce for certain items with Specialty Produce.  You can actually go to their warehouse and buy consumer direct.  Learn more about this and more at their website, www.specialtyproduce.com.

This April San Diego Catering company Eco Caters  helped a vegan bride celebrate with a vegan fiesta!

Held in the beautiful Seagrove Park, Del Mar.  San Diego caterer, Eco Caters, provided a vegan fiesta starting with some spicy Hors D’Oeuvres including: a Salsa Trio and Guacamole with Chips, minced Mushrooms with Cumin and delicious vegan Mexican pies with a fresh Cilantro dip. The guest sipped on fresh squeezed Lemonade, Red Wine Sangria and a refreshing muddled herb spritzer with Basil, Cilantro and Mint. A “Best of Market” Green Salad was then devoured with a light house vinaigrette. For the main meal San Diego Caterer, Eco Caters put together a vegan feast of Jalepeno Black Beans, Cilantro Rice, Grilled Seasonal Veggies with Portobello Mushrooms, with Flour Tortillas.

The menu was heavily  inspired by the couples love of Mexican food. We really enjoy working with couples who have strong desires and long wish list. We can create a custom menu for almost ever kind of cuisine. Spanish tapas, an island cocktail party, meditraian inpired dished, or even an Asian feast. Eco Caters will work with you on what your dream wedding meal.

San Diego Catering company Eco Caters simply loved Seagrove Park in Del Mar, it  is a great place to hold an outdoor wedding. It has great views of the ocean, soft grass underfoot and the most romantic sunsets. This is a popular spot for weddings and gatherings. Seagrove Park is also a great place to picnic, particulary on the lawn at the parks edge, overlooking the ocean. Seagrove Park sits on the edge of a bluff at the end of 15th Street, which overlooks Del Mar City Beach. It’s not uncommon for dolphins to appear beyond the shore break at Seagrove Park. The reef makes beach a popular spot for surfers.

Since 1986, tens of thousands of runners and walkers have come to the Village of Carlsbad to run along the flat 3.1 mile course, whisking by the Pacific Ocean before turning down Carlsbad Village Drive for a downhill race to the finish with thousands of spectators cheering you on. The 5K distance may have given way to the more popular marathon and half marathon endurance events in the past ten years, but don’t let that fool you, the Carlsbad 5000 is still the World’s Fastest 5K, and site of the legendary post-race Party by the Sea! The Carlsbad 5000 is called “The Fastest 5k” because it is a super quick, flat course. To this day it holds 16 world records! This inspirational photo was taken at the race by Ollie Neglerio. Congratulations to all the athletes from San Diego caterer, Eco Caters!

Fifth generation farmer Chris Cadwell took over his family’s remaining undeveloped fourteen acres of hillside property overlooking the Pacific Ocean’s Channel Islands in Carpinteria, California. No Cadwell had ever had the desire to work the steep piece of property until Chris, and his family began cultivating it for organic garlic.

The name Tutti Frutti is Italian for “All Fruits.” The Cadwell family has been growing organic produce for Southern California since 1988. Their produce is sold at many local grocery stores and served in amazing restaurants. To find out more about Tutti Frutti farms go to www.tuttifruttifarms.com
