A special “Thank You!” to Mackenzie and Dan for choosing Eco Caters as their San Diego wedding caterer on what was a joyous wedding weekend! The two of you were amazing and our team had a great time getting to know your extended families.

With our kitchens, based out of Los Angeles, San Diego and Washington D.C., and our farm to table philosophy, Eco Caters has been growing strong. Our San Diego wedding caterers served guests a family style dinner. As guest passed colorful dishes of braised pork, our popular Gouda Mac-n-Cheese, grilled sea bass and roasted root vegetable medley (pictured below), live music by DJ Nick Chavez kept the mood upbeat and moving. Everyone had a great time, and that makes us happy.

Marston House is a great place for anyone in the San Diego area looking for a wedding venue.
One of California’s finest examples of the Arts and Crafts movement, the Marston House was constructed in 1905 for George W. Marston and his wife, Anna Gunn Marston. George Marston is noted for many things but most prominently as a civic leader whose interest and work in historic preservation, conservation and history is well known.
The property was designed and built by the internationally renowned architects William Sterling Hebbard and Irving Gill. Surrounded by five acres of rolling lawns, manicured formal gardens, and rustic canyon gardens, this 8,500 square-foot home became a house museum in 1987 after the Marston family gifted it to the City of San Diego for the enjoyment of the public.
Spend some time exploring the grounds, formal gardens and canyon pathways in the shade of towering pine, eucalyptus and oak trees. Learn about one of San Diego’s most prominent families and the master architects and landscape designers who worked with the family to create one of the region’s most important estates.

Go Green Agriculture was started by a first generation farmer with a computer science degree. All the vegetables they grow use hydroponics and uses no soil what so ever. Their process uses 80% less water than traditional farms and they have expanded their model to other parts of the country. It’s truly a farm model for the future. They were even invited to the White House to be recognized as a “Champion of Change.” Eco Caters uses their greens at our San Diego kitchen, and we are always pleased with their product. Look for their lettuce, kale, and spinach at your local grocer!
Just south of San Jose in the Carmel Valley, is where you’ll discover the SonRise Ranch. The SonRise Ranch is a family run farm serving organic grass fed beef, humanely treated, antibiotic free pork and truly free-range chicken. Their family takes great care of the way the raise their livestock and it shines through in the meats they produce. They also have an amazing on sight butcher offering the public delicious cuts of meat, flavorful aged steaks, homemade sausages, and their very own pet food.
The Hidden Valley Retreat and Spa is a unique destination venue for your retreat, outdoor wedding or reunion. This historic natural estate is conveniently located in the hills of Escondido and offers an 11-acre garden paradise with modern accommodations, meeting rooms and enjoyable amenities. We welcome groups with up to 42 overnight guests and can provide you with as much, or as little, planning support you might need.
Eco Caters, your organic San Diego catering team had so much fun at the ‘Uncorked Wine Walk and Concert’! We met amazing people, rubbed elbows with fashionistas, and had a great day in the sun.
The ‘Uncorked Wine Walk’ spread out over five distinct wine gardens at the Westfield UTC Mall, each highlighting bottles from California’s Temecula Valley wineries. Wines were carefully paired with mouthwatering appetizers from our San Diego catering team, along with incredible cocktails by Snake Oil Cocktail Company.
All the wines served were provided by The Temecula Valley wineries, which is a collection of 31 vineyards growing over 50 varietals of grapes, joining together to support one another. Along with fabulous wines, they also have delicious winery restaurants, intimate bed and breakfast inns, and lush resorts.
ABOVE: Our San Diego caterers served grilled mango rubbed with smoked pepper. A simple appetizer with just enough kick to keep you on your toes.
Something that sets us apart from other San Diego caterers is our passion for all things organic and local. Each and every dish we serve to our guests is FDA Organic, and carefully sourced from small local farms or neighborhood farmers markets. Our San Diego catering team works hard to ensure that our clients receive the freshest ingredients Mother Nature can provide.
Each of the wine gardens was designed with fun bursts of color by Rhapsody Rentals. They cleverly decorated each space with pillows and artwork by the iconic pop-art of Andy Warhol, creating buzz for the new Andy Warhol exhibit at the San Diego Museum of Art. Go see the exhibit before it’s too late!
Eco Caters, your organic San Diego caterer would like to acknowledge photographer Arlene Ibarra, for allowing us to share these lively photos from the event, decorations by Rhapsody Rentals, the beautiful flower arrangements by Flowers By Azalea, and the superb mixologists from Snake Oil Cocktail Co.

Wild Willow Farm is a beautiful San Diego wedding venue for those of you seeking that all-in-one green wedding location.
When you get married out in the desert, less than a mile from the Mexican boarder one would expect a healthy amount of drinking, bonfires, bridesmaids in cowboy boots, and a lot of hooting and hollering. Rachel and Andrew’s wedding, which took place at Wild Willow Farm, would have happily met your expectations. With help of a few local farmers, Eco Caters prepared a delicious, all organic fest, fit for the occasion.
Wild Willow Farm, which is located just a short 15-minute drive from down town San Diego, and less than a mile from the Mexico boarder, is six acres of organic farmland with a passion for growing and educating our community on sustainable farming. It’s also a beautiful San Diego wedding venue for those of you seeking that all-in-one green wedding location.
Our San Diego wedding catering company is proud to play a part San Diego Roots Sustainable Food Project: “a network of citizens, farmers, chefs, gardeners, teachers, and students working to encourage the growth and consumption of regional food. From farm to fork, we focus awareness and work toward a more ecologically sound, economically viable and socially just food system in San Diego.
By eating locally, not only do you get fresher, better-tasting food, but you also help support family farms and encourage a vibrant local economy.”
Eco Caters, your all-organic San Diego wedding catering team, used all locally farmed ingredients to create the couple’s sustainable wedding menu. Produce for the wedding was grown at Suzies Farm (which Eco Caters uses regularly at all of our events), from our chef’s own backyard, and of course, from Wild Willow Farm. The food our San Diego caterers served was as fresh as could be. Guests even commented on how crisp, bright, and delicious all the vegetables were, which is something that makes us very proud. We love knowing that the guests we serve are conscious of the extra care and quality we work hard to put into each and every dish we offer.
Below is the menu our San Diego wedding caterers served to Rachel and Andrew’s friends and family:
Chef’s selection of assorted cheeses with Farmer’s Market fruit and preserves
Hummus Trio with Cucumber Yoghurt, Mixed Olives, and Grilled Flatbread
Salad and Asian Station
Kale and Beet Salad with Julienne Carrot and Apple Cider Vinaigrette
Green Curry with Farmers Market Veggies and Mexican White Shrimp
Wild Willow Farm Stir Fry

Meet Open Air Bistro: the fun, growing concept known as the “Pop-Up Restaurant.”
On a cool evening in the Point Loma Heights neighborhood of San Diego, an outdoor, makeshift restaurant is bustling with laughs, appetizers, and plenty of beer. What was merely a quiet urban garden just a few hours ago is now an open air, temporary restaurant, just as busy as any other establishment on a Friday night.
The Pop-Up Restaurant phenomenon started back in early 2000’s when talented British and Australian chefs would put together special menus for special, one-time events in local neighborhoods, to show off their cooking skills. Since then, the Pop-Up Restaurant bug has caught the likes of local San Diego caterers Nick Brune and Adam Hiner, Co-owners of Eco Caters, an all-organic San Diego catering company, with a passion for all things local.
“All the food for the Open Air Bistro was sourced 100% from Herb En Routes urban farm, as well as our own backyard gardens,” says Adam Hiner, Co-owner and chef of the all-organic San Diego catering company, Eco Caters. “The only outside ingredients for the Open Air Bistro was a local olive oil (Bellavado), and yellowtail that was caught locally the day prior to the event. We love the Open Air Bistro concept and we can’t wait to do more of them!”
The menu for this San Diego pop up dinner was a simple yet flavorful tomato salad with micro greens tossed with a garlic avocado oil, an eggplant pared with smoked jalapeño, stuffed squash blossom with a creamy Summer Squash Nage, and lastly, local yellowtail tuna with a carrot emulsion and a basil lemon verbena vinaigrette. For the vegetarians who opted out of the fish our San Diego caterers prepared a grilled cucumber with beets, carrots & brown butter. For desert guests were treated a refreshing Cucumber Mint Granita, and our popular Lemon Verbena Panna Cotta.
Over the last few years Eco Caters, San Diego’s all-organic catering company, has grown a passion for urban farming. Some of the fruits and vegetables they grow in Nick and Adam’s own back yards have been enjoyed on the plates of many of the corporate events and weddings the San Diego caterers cater for. Over the next few years they hope to expand this into their own locally grown honey, and goats cheese from a few their goats.
Our San Diego caterers would like to give a special “Thanks!” to My Local Habit for bringing a spectacular selection of local beers, Herb En Routes for sharing their urban garden. We purchase lots of produce from Herb En Routes for our San Diego catering events and we love their service and dedication to freshness. Lastly, we want to give a special thanks to San Diego Photographer Leylla Badeanlou for sharing her photographs. She did a spectacular job capturing the warmth we all experienced at the Open Air Bistro. Until Next time!
