A Smog Shoppe Wedding Filled With Happiness

The first time you meet Ayumi & Brian, one thing is clear, they love to smile!

From the first day Ayumi and Brian came to visit our Los Angeles wedding catering team, to seeing them drive off for their honeymoon, the couple had an infectious smile on their face.  Our Los Angeles wedding catering company, Eco Caters, partnered with the Smog Shoppe to rein in this happy, and very giggly occasion.

Style Me Pretty had a nice writeup on the wedding our Los Angeles wedding caterers had the pleasure to serve.  In the article, Ayumi talked about the feel the couple was going for : “The one thing we knew we wanted for our wedding was for it to reflect who we are and what we hold dear to our hearts: family, friends, and fun. We wanted great food, good drinks, lots of personalized touches, and a day surrounded by all the people we love in a warm and inviting, laid-back atmosphere.” As a Los Angeles wedding caterer we just love knowing we helped them create a day that was truly their own.

Our all-organic Los Angeles wedding catering company mixed cold drinks at the open bar, tray passed warm hors d’oeuvers and filled everyone’s bellies with delicious local food.

Our Los Angeles wedding caterers put together a cheerful dinner to celebrate the couples wedding.  Guests savored our Farmers Market salad made of wild arugula greens tossed with crumbled blue cheese, sweet nectarines and our house Apple Cider Vinaigrette.  Then it was on to the main course: pasture raised Braised Beef Brisket with fall tomatoes, sweet Pineapple Pork, and flaky grilled Pacific Fish with a side of our secret Coconut Sauce.  The proteins were complimented with roasted Brussels sprouts tossed in course ground mustard, and our rich-n-creamy Gouda Mac & Cheese.

Displaying candy in these old toolboxes was such a great idea!  The couple had friends and family decorate their wedding from top to bottom and they creatively utilized the vintage, car shop feel of the Smog Shoppe.

To pay homage to the Smog Shoppe’s past as an auto body shop and the groom and groomsmen’s love of cars, we wanted to bring in automobile related elements. Our bridesmaids helped us purchase toolboxes from a local flea market to use as our card box and candy bar. One of our groomsmen surprised us by having a friend pinstripe the boxes, while another hand-lettered the toolboxes. He also painted our drink and buffet menus, keeping a retro style and incorporating more pinstriping. My father-in-law then built a beautiful pegboard – like the kind used in garages for organizing tools – for us to use to display our escort cards.”

The wedding photos for Ayumi and Brian’s wedding are amazing!  Adrienne Gunde of Adrienne Gunde Photography captured the day with a keen eye on detail.  The photos pop with brilliant colors and bottle the energy of each moment.  Visit Style Me Pretty to view more photos from this wedding!  As a Los Angeles wedding caterer we found her to be a great photographer to work with.

A very special thanks to Ayumi and Brian for making Eco Caters apart of their special wedding.  You kept us smiling all day long and all through the night.

Spread the love
