The Mountain Mermaid Inn

The Mountain Mermaid Inn is an incognito Los Angeles wedding location gem.

Tucked away in Topanga Canyon, The Mountain Mermaid Inn began its life as a quaint country club… became the home of gangster Mickey Cohen… in the 1950’s it was transformed itself into an underground gay speakeasy… subsequently it was used as an American Legion hall, a school, a concert hall, and now this historic retreat is a private oasis owned by Bill Buerge.  Bill has done a wonderful job preserving this magnificent building and the gardens that surround it.  (Visit their website to see more photos of the grounds www.themountainmermaid.com)

Over the years, Eco Caters, Los Angeles’s organic catering company, has serviced many charming weddings at TheMountain Mermaid Inn.  The Spanish Colonial architecture, combined with its rich history, ensures a personal and unparalleled experience each and every time.  I’m not one to easily believe in the supernatural, but once the sun goes down, you can feel the presence of happy drunken sailors joining in on the party as the night unfolds.  They ensure an evening of free flowing drinks and a full dance floor.  Eco Caters highly recommends you check them out!   The Mountain Mermaid Inn

We wanted to share this heartwarming wedding video by wedding videographer Daniel Chae that shows off a little Mermaid flair.  It rained the day of the wedding so you truly don’t get to see how beautiful the gardens are the surround the house.
